Former UFC champion, Miesha Tate is the big winner of the North American 'Big Brother'

The fighter became the first athlete to win the reality show and took home more than R$1,2 million

Former UFC bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg), Miesha Tate added, last Wednesday (23), an unusual achievement to his CV. The fighter was the grand champion of the third edition of “Celebrity Big Brother”, in the United States. The first athlete to win the reality show, Tate took home a prize of US$250 (approximately R$1,2 million).

Unlike Big Brother Brasil, Celebrity Big Brother is competed exclusively by celebrities, has different rules than the original version of the reality show and only lasts three weeks. To become champion of the third season, Miesha Tate He beat the singer, dancer and YouTuber Todick Hall in the final by seven votes to one (the final jury is made up of the participants eliminated from the season).

The short duration of the reality show allowed Miesha Tate participate even with a fight scheduled in the UFC. At times, the former champion was even seen practicing exercises and even doing specific MMA training.

Miesha Tate was joined by two other athletes in the third season of Celebrity Big Brother: former professional basketball player Lamar Odom and Olympic figure skater Mirai Nagasu.

With the conquest, Miesha Tate can now focus exclusively on his next challenge in the Octagon. The former champion faces the also veteran Lauren Murphy in an event scheduled by the UFC for May 14th. The duel marks Tate's debut at flyweight (up to 56,7 kg).
