LFA returns to Brazil with two title fights, in March, in Rio de Janeiro

One of the events that most reveals fighters for the UFC, the LFA has a date set to return to Brazil. Last Thursday (17), the organization announced that LFA 126, scheduled for March 11th, will take place at Complexo Ribalta, in Barra da Tijuca, a neighborhood in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro and will feature two title fights .

In the main fight, Jonas Bilharinho faces Rafael Barbosa for the vacant featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg). In the co-main fight, Gabriel Bonfim duels with Quemuel Ottoni for the vacant welterweight title (under 77kg).

Considered for a long time one of the most promising names in Brazilian MMA, Jonas Bilharinho was successful in the Jungle Fight, where he was champion of two divisions. After a long period away from fighting, the athlete returned to show in the last season of the Contender Series, where he scored a spectacular knockout over Canaan Kawaihae, but still failed to get a contract with the UFC. At LFA 126, Jonas faces Rafael “Coxinha” Barbosa, a 24-year-old athlete who has already won two fights in the organization in 2019 and is coming off two consecutive victories at Future FC in 2021.

In the other title fight, at welterweight, Gabriel “Marretinha” seeks to maintain his unbeaten record in his career. The 24-year-old athlete has 11 victories, all of them by knockout and submission and the last one in the LFA cage, in July last year. On the other hand, Quemuel Ottoni is responsible for the only defeat in the professional record of Alex Poatán, star of GLORY and currently in the UFC. The 29-year-old athlete arrives for the duel on the back of four consecutive victories.
