Aware that he was provoked by the middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.) moments after the Nigerian overcame Robert whittaker, the miner used social media to rebut 'Izzy'.

Adesanya's speech took place at the press conference after the UFC 271. At the time, the Nigerian joked Robert whittaker who, moments before, suggested that he had beaten the champion in a match valid for the group title.
At the time, Israel joked about the situation, suggesting that the Australian had drunk 'Borrachinha wine'. In the clash against 'Bobby', the Nigerian won the unanimous decision of the judges.
A standout Brazilian in the middleweight division, Borrachinha shared the octagon with Adesanya in September 2020. Considered, at the time, as a real danger to the champion, the Minas Gerais native ended up not repeating the good performances that earned him the title of challenger. In a fight for the throne, the Brazilian was knocked out and momentarily moved away from his dream of the belt.
