And Tuivasa's performance also earned him praise from Dana White, the organization's president. In a post-event press conference, the manager praised the way the Australian behaved in front of a challenger and projects the athlete's future in the category.
“Incredible fight. I mean, did you know that if you let them free, they'd be in for an interesting night. He (Tuivasa) looked good. He won and should have been in the top-3 or top-5. So wherever he is in the rankings, he will be measuring up against all these guys,” said Dana.
It does not stop there. White also couldn't escape Tai's famous celebration, which celebrates his victories by drinking beer out of shoes. The agent emphasizes that he will not 'be able to escape' the Australian's trademark in his next performances.
“He’s got a good chin, man. I knew the two would start striking and someone would fall, but his elbows seemed to be really good. It was definitely his fight. And I won't be able to escape the 'shoes'. Let's see how this will look in the future. We’ll talk about it later (laughs)”, he concluded.
Tuivasa is experiencing an enlightened moment in Ultimate. The fighter achieved his fifth victory in the series, also being his sixth knockout. In his career, he has a record of 15 positive results and three negative results.
