Video: Adesanya provokes Whittaker with a pendant that reproduces, on video, his knockout over his rival

Close to the long-awaited rematch against Robert whittaker, Israel adesanya decided to innovate in provocations against his rival. At the promotional press conference for the UFC 271, held last Thursday (10), the middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.) surprised by showing off a necklace containing a pendant that reproduces, on video, the knockout given to the New Zealander in 2019. The luxury item was initially exposed on social media.

This weekend, Adesanya will make his debut in the 2022 season. As his opponent, the Nigerian will have Whittaker, champion dethroned by the Nigerian in a harsh way just over two years ago.

For UFC 271, Israel will try to expand the great phase within the middleweight division. Since he took the throne, 'Izzy' has racked up three title defenses.

After losing the belt to Adesanya, Robert didn't have an easy time regaining his status as a challenger. To accomplish the feat, the New Zealander passed three tests and regained his number one position in the rankings.

On Saturday, Israel will reach the milestone of 23 appearances as a professional in MMA. Whittaker will have his 29th challenge in the sport.
