This Saturday (12), Israel adesanya e Robert whittaker face each other in the main fight of the UFC 271, valid for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg). Following tradition, last Thursday (10), the two athletes had their first official contact and had their first face-off before the rematch at the event's official press conference.

Israel adesanya e Robert whittaker they share the octagon again after about two and a half years. In their first meeting, in October 2019, the Nigerian, interim champion at the time, knocked out the Australian-born New Zealander in the second round to unify the middleweight belts.
From there to here, Israel adesanya defended the title on three occasions, against Yoel romero, Paulo borrachinha and most recently Marvin vettori, only losing the duel against Jan Blachowicz, valid for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg).
On the other side, Robert whittaker recovered from the defeat and the loss of the belt with three dominant victories over Darren till, Jared Cannonier and most recently Kelvin Gastelum.
