Velasquez responds to Cigano's provocation: 'He's going to be hit by a girl again'

With a little delay, it's true, Cain Velazquez responded to the statements of Junior Gypsy about the power of his punches. In June, on the radio program “Pânico”, the Brazilian declared that the heavyweight champion “hits like a girl”, because despite being hit for five rounds he had not suffered any cuts in their last encounter. Finally, this Tuesday (30), during the UFC World Tour, Velasquez responded to the provocation.

“I don't take my opponents' statements personally, but he was 'hit by a girl' before. And he will be 'hit by a girl' again”, said the champion after being asked about Cigano's words by a fan present at the event, in Los Angeles (USA).

More measured this time, Junior dos Santos also spoke about his next fight against Velasquez. “I have to do everything differently than I did in my last fight against Cain Velásquez. He is a great fighter, a very difficult rival, and it is a pleasure to be able to compete with him at such a high level. But I will be ready to beat him again. What I have to do is train,” he said.

Junior Gypsy e Cain Velazquez they face each other for the third time, again for the heavyweight title, at UFC 166. The event takes place on October 19th, in Houston (USA). While Cigano won the first meeting between the two, in 2011, Velasquez came out on top in the second fight, last year.
