It wasn't what we expected, there was no knockout, but Sean Strickland achieved another victory in the Ultimate Octagon. In a warm and strategic fight, 'Tarzan' defeated the Swede Jack hermansson in the unanimous decision of the judges and achieved his sixth consecutive triumph. The fight led the UFC Las Vegas 47, which took place on Saturday night (05).
With the triumph, Strickland recorded his sixth consecutive victory and is heading towards the top-5 in the middleweight division. 'Tarzan' now has 25 triumphs and three setbacks as a professional MMA fighter and starts to watch the champion more closely Israel adesanya.
Hermansson, on the other hand, suffers defeat again after just over a year. At 33 years old and in seventh place in the rankings, the Swede has 22 victories and seven negative results in the sport.

Hermansson started by trying some low kicks on Strickland, who responded with two left jabs. After another jab attempt from Strickland, Jack tried to go for a takedown, but Sean hit the ground and got up quickly. The 'Joker' landed a kick to the American's waistline. Strickland continued to insist on jabs, which easily entered his rival's guard. Sean started using more punch combinations, which worried Hemansson.
Hermansson started the second half more aggressively, but Sean was dangerous with his counterattacks. Jack tried another takedown, but his rival's takedown defense continued to be fine. Strickland tried to tighten the siege, but Jack responded with a heavy follow-up that put the American in danger. 'Tarzan' began to dominate the center of the cage and used his kicks to target the Swede's waistline. Hermansson tried to punch Strickland, but opened his guard too much and caught a cross that led to his knockdown.
In the third round, Strickland followed the strategy of playing from medium distance and trying to surprise Hermansson with counterattacks. Jack landed a beautiful kick to his rival's waistline, who was unable to respond. The fight remained warm, with few moments of emotion until the bell sounded.
Hermansson attempted the takedown again at the beginning of the fourth section, however, he failed once again. Jack tries a low kick but leaves his guard exposed and takes a nice punch from Strickland. 'Tarzan' lands two jabs on Hermansson, who responds with a straight right. Sean tries a high kick, which he catches. The confrontation continued with few emotions.
Hermansson returns for the last part trying to corner Strickland and applying a 'superman punch' to his rival. Jack's combinations scared Sean, but he managed to escape the attacks. 'Tarzan', even without being exciting, showed incredible efficiency in his counter strikes. The Swede tried another takedown at the beginning of the final minute and failed once again. The fight ended with a short exchange in the center of the cage.
