Due to the loud boos that echoed through the Key Arena this Saturday (27), it became clear that the co-main fight of UFC on FOX 8, between Rory McDonald and Jake ellenberger, did not please the fans. At the press conference that followed the event, Ultimate president Dana White echoed the public's dissatisfaction and harshly criticized the fight, especially Ellenberger.

“When you have these fights where guys talk sh*t, they always suck. I think for Ellenberger to come out and say that (Rory McDonald) does not deserve to be in top-10 and then don't go there and try to prove that he doesn't belong in the top-10… Ellenberger literally did nothing”, said the manager.

But anyone who thinks that White spared the winner of the fight, Rory McDonald, is mistaken. “And in my opinion, Rory didn't do anything to try to take it down and put a 'seal' on it and ratify (which is a top-10), not only for the world, but for the guys in the division”, concluded the president.

The fighters received the criticism differently. While Ellenberger was upset with his performance, saying that he was “very disappointed” with himself, McDonald revealed that he believed he had made the best choice for the fight. “I think I did exactly what I was supposed to do. I did my part. He fights on the counterattack and has very powerful punches. I was waiting for my opportunities,” said the Canadian.
