During his participation in the “Mundo da Luta” podcast, from “Combate”, Deiveson Figueiredo ruled out the possibility of facing Brandon Moreno In Mexico. The champion joked about his coach's lack of popularity Henry Cejudo in the country, but pointed to racism on the part of some Mexican fans as the main reason for the decision.
“If we fight in Mexico, we're sure not to go out with Cejudo there, because people want his head in Mexico. So, in response to Cejudo's request, we're going to ask for this fight in Brazil, or anywhere else, except Mexico. Even I don't want to go there. The guys are very prejudiced too, some Mexicans come to me calling me 'monkey' and other things. Because of that, I don’t want to fight in Mexico,” said Deiveson.
Still during the podcast, Deiveson reinforced that he would like to receive US$1 million (approximately R$5,2 million) to do the quadrilogy against Moreno and, once again, mentioned Kai Kara France as a possible challenger.
“I'm asking for 1 million dollars to do the fourth fight, which is something that is already getting boring. But it all comes down to a conversation. It's about sitting down with them personally so we can come up with a number and I can fight with the Kai Kara France or whoever it is”, concluded the champion.
