Israel Adesanya promises to unmask Robert Whittaker's 'character' at UFC 271

Israel adesanya back in action in UFC 271 on February 12th to face an old acquaintance. The middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.) measures his strength against Robert whittaker in search of a new title defense and, in an interview with the sponsor 'Stake', revealed that he plans to unmask his opponent's character.

“I said at the time that he was acting out of character, and I also said that he is not being himself. People kept saying he's a good guy, but trust me, he's not. You don't see it behind the scenes. And now he has admitted that it was his ego that hurt him in the first fight. If he can improve, he will have to bring the best, but I will beat him again,” said Adesanya.

PUBLICITY:

The Nigerian even promised that he will make Whittaker make the same mistakes as in the first meeting. He believes the Australian could be 'lost' after receiving heavy blows.

“My prediction is that I will beat Whittaker again. He may have learned from his mistakes last time, but he will make the same mistakes again. Once he feels what he felt last time, he will be lost,” he concluded.

Adesanya and Whittaker were in the main fight of the UFC 243, in October 2019. At the time, the New Zealander was the current champion of the division, however, he succumbed to the excellent performance of 'Stylebender', who knocked out Robert in the second round of the fight.
