Video: Ex-UFC, Markus Maluko participates in 'pillow fight', but confrontation ends in confusion

Former UFC representative, Markus Maluko decided to innovate once again. An MMA athlete, the Brazilian was one of the stars of the curious 'Pillow Fighting Championship', an event that promotes 'pillow fights'. The São Paulo native's participation in the show held last Saturday (29), in Miami (USA), however, almost ended in a fight.

With the chance to win US$5 (more than R$25), Maluko won in his first match, when he beat Santiago Seijo. Then, however, came the bizarre moment. Against Reggie Newsome, Markus came close to forgetting the rules of the show and almost came to blows with his opponent.

In the images (see below), it is possible to see the protagonists exchanging blows. At one point, Newsome loses his pillow and the Brazilian continues to strike. Angry and without the 'working tool', Reggie attacked the São Paulo player and 'time closed'.

The Tupiniquim rival even pushed Maluko, who responded to his opponent's arguments. The 'stop it' group, however, soon took action and tried to separate the combatants.

Brazilian wins belt

While Markus didn't get the prize he wanted, a Brazilian had reasons to smile at the Pillow Fighting Championship. istela nunes, representative of the UFC's strawweight division (up to 52,1 kg), did well in the event's proposal and won the US$5 million prize after winning in three appearances.

In addition to the amount in the bill, the woman from Paraná also takes home the tournament belt.

A UFC representative since 2021, Istela has competed in one fight for the company so far. In her debut, the combatant ended up being surpassed by Ariane Sorriso, finally.
