Leader of the UFC's weight-for-pound rankings and dominant welterweight champion (up to 77 kg) of the organization, Kamaru Usman recently revealed that he was considering moving up two weight divisions to face Jan Blachowicz when the Pole was light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg). Ali Abdelaziz, the Nigerian's manager, also wants the champion to move up a division, but to middleweight (up to 83,9 kg).

In an interview with the North American website “TMZ Sports”, Abdelaziz stated that Usman's next step is to defend the welterweight belt against Leon edwards, but after that he wants to see his client seeking a second Ultimate title against Israel adesanya.
“The next victim is Leon edwards. Great fighter, but he will be finished before three rounds. Fact. Will happen. The UFC welterweight division is very interesting. Kamaru will defeat him. I want him to defeat Leon edwards and then face Israel adesanya for the middleweight title”, said the businessman.

“Listen, these guys get along, but I don't think they're best friends. If you have enough money for both, they face each other in the parking lot. I know how people work. It has nothing to do with loyalty, because these guys are not training partners or brothers. They are African brothers and that has a lot of value, but at the end of the day I am team Kamaru Usman ever. I want to see Kamaru Usman, before the end of the road, with two titles. I’m selfish, greedy and I think Kamaru deserves that”, concluded Abdelaziz.
