The Ultimate organization announced a fight between lightweights K.J. Noons and George Sotiropoulos for UFC 166, in October. The information, confirmed by officials this Wednesday (24), was published by the Australian newspaper “The Age”.
K.J. Noons, who is a former Elite XC champion and played for Strikeforce, has a record of eleven wins and seven losses. The American comes from three consecutive defeats. The last of them, for Donald Cerrona at UFC 160, marked his Ultimate debut.
His opponent, George Sotiropoulos, has the same recent record. The Australian, who was a TUF 6 semifinalist and coach of the edition The Smashes, also lost his last three fights. Sotiropoulos has 14 wins and five losses in his career.
UFC 166 takes place on October 19th, at Toyota Center, in Houston (USA). The main fight of the event marks the third meeting between the heavyweights Cain Velazquez e Junior Gypsy, again in a fight valid for the category belt.
