Just over a day after the official announcement of the Paulo thiago of the second edition of UFC on FOX Sports 1, the Ultimate organization announced that Brian Melancon will be the replacement for “Caveira”. Melancon faces the TUF 17 champion Kelvin Gastelum on the main card of the event.

The initiative to withdraw Paulo thiago on the night of fights came from his own team, after tests carried out showed a strain in the ligament in his left knee. The athlete continued training, using protection in place, but his condition did not improve and he ended up out of the fight against Gastelum.
