In command of Ultimate for more than 20 years, Dana White never hid the fact that Kamaru Usman may soon be added to the organization's shelf of legends. A fan of the talent of the welterweight champion (up to 77kg), the 'boss' commented on the unusual desire of the athlete, who recently revealed that he dreams of fighting for the light heavyweight (up to 93kg) belt. Upon learning of the pupil's wishes, the agent did not object.

Usman's desire to test himself was revealed in an interview with 'GQ'. At the time, the Nigerian stated that he would skip the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg), as he did not want to face his friend Israel adesanya by the title.
The idea began when Blachowicz was still on the throne of the under-93kg category. The Pole, however, ended up losing the belt in the confrontation against Glover Teixeira, in October 2021.
Absolute at welterweight, Kamaru continues collecting victims in the Octagon. Champion since 2019, the Nigerian now has five title defenses and is close to breaking the historic record of Anderson Silva, 16 consecutive victories with UFC gloves.
