UFC decides not to renew Jeremy Stephens and veteran leaves organization after 15 years

In the organization since 2007, the North American's contract ended in July 2021 and the franchise chose not to sign a new contract

The UFC decided not to renew the contract of Jeremy Stephens, who won at the end of July 2021, and the fighter is no longer part of the featherweight division squad (up to 65,7kg.). The veteran is now free to sign with other organizations after spending 15 years with the company. The information was released by 'MMA fighting'.

Stephens, now 35 years old, leaves the company after a run of six fights without winning – five defeats and one fight without result. In his last performance, the North American was finished by Mateusz gamrot via kimura in the first round, in a fight valid for UFC Las Vegas 31.

Fourth in the ranking of those who played the most in Ultimate, Jeremy debuted in 2007 and went into action in the franchise another 33 times.

Professional since 2005, the veteran has a record of 47 fights in mixed martial arts. Currently, there are 28 wins, 19 losses and one 'no contest' – fight without result. In Ultimate, he achieved significant victories against relevant names, such as the former Brazilian champions Rafael dos Anjos e Renan Barao, in addition to Gilbert Melendez, Cole Miller and Darren Elkins. He has also measured forces against Charles of the Bronx, Frankie Edgar, José Aldo e Zabit Magomedsharipov.
