Defeated twice by Kamaru Usman, Colby covington still believes he is the only one who can defeat the welterweight champion (under 77,1kg). In an interview before the UFC 270 last Saturday (22), the former challenger said he won the second duel with the Nigerian and said that a victory over Jorge masvidal, will place him once again as a rival to the belt owner.

“This (a victory over Jorge masvidal) puts me back in line to get another fight with Usman. People saw in New York what happened. I easily won three rounds. I think I won four rounds. The only round he clearly won was the second. I won first, third, fourth and fifth and people saw that. They want that fight again,” Colby said.
The American, who believes he is the only one capable of beating the current champion, emphasized his desire for a third fight against Usman.
“There is no one who is at his level like me. So this fight needs to happen again. There needs to be a trilogy because he hasn't proven he's the best fighter. He hasn't proven he's the best welterweight in the world and there's still unfinished business there. So I guess after I win Jorge masvidal on March 5th, this puts me back in line to have my chance at the title”, concluded 'Chaos'.
In the last 10 fights of his career, Colby was only defeated on two occasions, both by Kamaru Usman. His next fight will be on March 5th, against former challenger Jorge masvidal. Still number one in the category, 'Chaos' has a record of 16 triumphs and three setbacks in professional MMA.
