The Brazilian Glover Teixeira is pointed out by many fans and analysts as one of the main threats to the holder of the Ultimate heavyweight title, the North American Jon Jones. In an interview with the website “MMA Junkie”, Glover, who is in the UFC’s main fight at Combate 3 against Ryan bader, he lived up to his condition and said he was prepared to fight for the belt.
“I have my skills and my confidence, I'm ready to fight for the title tomorrow. I'm ready to ready to win the title. If Gustafsson gets hurt – and I hope that doesn't happen, I wouldn't wish that on anyone – but I'm always there. If I don't get hurt in the fight against Ryan bader, I struggle with Jon Jones”, said Teixeira.
The Sobrália miner also explained, and reviewed, a recent statement on the subject. “When I said I didn't think I had done enough to earn a title shot, it wasn't because of my confidence or my skills. When I said that, it's because I'm new to the organization. But I think I have the capacity to go there today and fight for the title, fight against Jon Jones”, highlighted the Brazilian.
Glover Teixeira, 33 years old, has a record of 21 wins and just two losses. The fighter currently maintains an impressive unbeaten record. Glover has not been defeated since 2005. Since then, there have been 20 consecutive victories – four of them in Ultimate. On September 4th, in Belo Horizonte (MG), the Brazilian will take part in the main fight of the UFC in Combate 3 against the North American Ryan bader.
