O Jungle Fight there is a new champion in the flyweight division (up to 57 kg.). In the 55th edition of the event, held this Saturday (19), in Rio de Janeiro, Júnior Boya beat Marcos Vinicius Cabecinha and won the interim category title.
The fight
Hastily called up to face Marcos Vinicius Cabecinha, replacing Robson New who was banned from the event for not making weight, Júnior Boya surprised the audience, showed himself better during much of the fight and won the dispute for the interim belt by technical knockout.
After a very competitive first round, with good moments for both fighters, Boya ended the dispute in the second round. He landed a direct hit on Cabecinha and took his rival to the ground. Without wasting time, he landed a few more blows and ended the fight on the ground by technical knockout.
“I was notified about the fight on Friday at 22pm, I had to lose 6kg for this fight. It was all very difficult, but I'm very happy to take this belt to my family”, said Boya.
Caião beats Conterraneo in the best fight of the night
In the most electrifying fight of Jungle Fight 55, Caio “Caião” Alencar and Edson “Conterrâneo” provided a great spectacle for MMA lovers in the semifinals of the organization’s heavyweight GP.
Showing an excellent level of striking, the two brought the audience to their feet in General Severiano. Even with the entire gym cheering in his favor, “Conterraneo” could not resist “Caião”’s powerful attacks and was defeated by technical knockout at the end of the second round.
