“As everyone knows, I was caught doping with a substance called 'Boldenone'. I'm here to say that I'm fully aware that I didn't use anything, I have USADA tests. Those who don't know, USADA is the main anti-doping regulatory body in the UFC. In fact, about 20 days before the fight I took the test and it came back completely clean; about 20 days later I did another test and it came back clean, another 30 days later I did another test and it came back completely clean. Only the fight, which was not for USADA, but for the Nevada Athletic Commission, was the one that tested positive and that raises a certain amount of doubt. How can a substance that is meant for horses leave my body so quickly? I see no plausible explanation for this. I feel very wronged because anyone who knows me knows, anyone who follows me knows, that even medication I avoid taking, I always research it (on the USADA website)”, he said. Carlos Boi.

The Brazilian said that he does not have the financial means to bear the high cost of his defense and that is why he had to accept the punishment without being able to contest it. The Bahian fighter continued to defend himself against the accusations.

“Unfortunately, the cost of defense would be very expensive, without any conditions for me. A lawyer alone would cost more than US$10, plus each supplement that would have to be tested, which would cost more than US$5. But this issue of the supplement can be considered out of the question, because even the people at USADA who are involved there, who understand the subject, said that there is no point in testing a supplement based on the assumption of a contaminated supplement because if it were really contaminated, In the USADA test I did after the fight I would still find traces of the metabolite, the substance, but not even that was found. In other words, only in the Athletic Commission test that accused this. That leaves the doubt”, criticized the Brazilian.

The Brazilian athlete classified the entire situation as 'clowning' and promised to return even stronger to the Ultimate octagon.

“I think this is a joke. It delays a person's life by practically two years, even though the person did nothing. I'm going to stay practically for a year and a half for something I didn't do. I am being judged unfairly. But that's it, we're going to come back stronger. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. We are together”, concluded the heavyweight.
