“It's incredible. Glover teaches us a lot. Talking to him is great, as he is very intelligent. Poatan too. That's awesome. They are too humble. Sometimes you ask something and they stop training to correct you. They are two guys who have helped a lot in my evolution. When I arrived, I was coming off two defeats and listening to a lot of things on the internet. And Glover is a guy who has been (in the sport) for a long time and has also had ups and downs. He's world champion today, but he's been through it and knows what the public is like. It was something that really impacted me so I could fight well again. I know how good I am and I was just going through a bad time, but now it's just evolution and we will always seek the path to victory”, said Wellington.

'I can finish'

When asked about the duel against Rudolph Vieira, Turman recognized the quality and evolution of his compatriot, but did not hesitate when saying that the path to triumph could be, precisely, through jiu-jitsu and his opponent's strong point. He also suggested that he is ready for the fight to take place on the feet or on the ground.

“Rodolfo is a very experienced guy in jiu-jitsu, he has already won the world championship and is a big name. But we're going to fight MMA. I respect him, I know he's dangerous, but I'm well prepared and I'm not afraid to trade ground with him. The strategy is to change a little, as I have improved my boxing. I have a versatile game to be able to deceive him. But I can finish, too. I know I can do this and I’m prepared for anything,” he concluded.

At 25, Wellington Turman has a 'negative record' in Ultimate. In five fights, the Curitiba native lost three fights and triumphed in two others. Professional since 2014, he has a record of 17 triumphs and five setbacks.
