UFC 161 took place a month ago, but only this Tuesday were the results of the event's anti-doping tests announced. All fighters had negative test results.
The information was released by the Manitoba Combat Sports Commission (MSCS), the entity that regulated UFC 161, which took place in the Canadian city of Winnipeg. It was the first time that the city and the commission hosted an edition of the UFC.
MCSC randomly selected ten of the twenty athletes who made up the UFC 161 card to undergo tests to detect performance-enhancing substances (such as anabolic steroids) or drugs, even recreational ones (such as cocaine or marijuana).
The curious fact of this result is that MCSC did not grant the Dan Henderson release for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). The American veteran had been cleared to perform under TRT in past fights. It was not disclosed whether Henderson's test was negative or whether the athlete was not one of the ten tested.
