PFL CEO Peter Murray confirms negotiations to hire Jake Paul

After a good start to his boxing career, the YouTuber has already expressed his intention to venture into MMA on a few occasions.

Recent statements from Jake Paul expressing interest in venturing into MMA caught the attention of the PFL, one of the main mixed martial arts organizations in the world.

After “Sports Business” revealed that the PFL was in the initial stage of negotiations with the YouTuber's team, the organization's CEO confirmed the interest.

In an interview with the North American website “MMA Junkie” last Thursday (13), Peter Murray confirmed contact with the team. Jake Paul and talked about the interest in the YouTuber.

“Listen, if any major athlete is considering getting into MMA, the PFL is definitely in the conversation. The goal of the PFL is to provide opportunities for fighters and access for fans to major events. Jake certainly has a lot of followers around the world. He has a strong point of view. He is a real athlete and has established himself in boxing. If he is looking at MMA as this next opportunity in parallel, perhaps along with boxing, we will definitely have a conversation”, said the PFL leader.

Recently, Jake Paul was involved in a major controversy with UFC president Dana White. The YouTuber, who recently knocked out the former Ultimate champion Tyron woodley, offered to fight in the UFC octagon if Dana accepted a list of demands related to improving the working conditions of the organization's fighters.

Peter Murray made it clear that the fact of negotiating with Jake Paul does not mean that he fully agrees with the YouTuber’s “manifesto”.
