The discussion about the salaries paid by the UFC has been heated in recent weeks, with several fighters, active and retired, complaining that salaries were very low in the largest MMA organization in the world. Dana White threatened to end the bonuses distributed at events to improve salaries, but his athletes asked for the bonuses to be maintained.
This Tuesday, in a telephone press conference, the UFC president informed that bonuses will not be cut. White pays three types of bonuses per event. They are: best knockout of the night, best submission and best fight, generally rewarding four athletes per card.
“At the last press conference, I had told the fighters that I would not end fight night bonuses. After I said that, I got a lot of feedback from fighters. They want the bonuses and they want them to be kept as is. Then that's it".
Currently, the UFC has frozen the value of bonuses at US$50 for each winning fighter, but the amount once reached US$129.
