Last Wednesday night, Invicta FC, the largest women's exclusive MMA organization in the world, held its 45th edition, in Kansas City, in the United States. In the main fight of the event, Brazilian Jéssica Delboni dominated the then champion Alesha Zappitella, won the judges' unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45 and 49-46) and won the atomweight belt (up to 47,6 kg) of the organization.

This was the second time that Jéssica Delboni and Alesha Zappitella faced each other. On the first occasion, in May 2021, the North American prevailed in a highly contested decision. Less than a month after the defeat, the Brazilian won the title of a tournament with three fights on the same night and guaranteed the right to a rematch.
At the reunion, Jéssica Delboni left no room for doubt. Superior on the feet and on the ground, the Brazilian came close to defining the fight in the second round, but Zappitella resisted the pressure. The American abused her takedown attempts, but was thwarted by Jéssica, who demonstrated excellent defense.
"I am really happy. I said that my jiu-jitsu was better, that my striking was better. I improved in all areas and now I know that I am the champion. I was able to listen to my corner very well, my master taught me a lot. I didn't want to leave the fight in the hands of the judges and I tried for a knockout in every round, I used my jiu-jitsu too. I’m the champion now”, declared Jéssica after the fight.
Currently, Jéssica Delboni is the only Brazilian owner of an Invicta FC belt. In the past, the organization has had as champions Chris Cyborg, Jennifer maia, Vanessa Porto, Livinha Souza, Virna jandiroba and Hérica Tibúrcio.
