“I watched your last fight, at Madison Square Garden (New York, United States) against Michael Bisping. It was his return after four years (of retirement) and his performance that night was incredible. Backstage, he told me, 'Man, it's not easy to come back. If you ever retire, you won’t come back after four years,” revealed Ngannou.

On the occasion mentioned by Francis, GSP was returning to action after a hiatus that began in 2013. A welterweight legend, the Canadian returned to try to win the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg), which, at the time, belonged to Bisping.

The clash against the Englishman further consolidated St-Pierre on the shelf of the best of all time. Georges needed just under four rounds to overcome the then champion, submitting his opponent in the third round.
