Weidman coach: 'Chris wants to prove that victory was not an accident'

On the AXS TV channel, Ray Longo stated that he believes in an even more convincing victory for the new champion

In recent days, UFC president Dana White declared that the rematch between Anderson Silva e Chris Weidman It can serve both Brazilians to redeem themselves and North Americans to assert themselves. In an interview with “AXS TV”, Weidman's coach, Ray Longo, echoed the manager and also stated that the new champion will win in an even more convincing way.

“Chris wants to prove to all these people that this (victory over Anderson Silva) it wasn’t an accident, and I think the rematch will end worse than the first fight,” said Longo.

On the 6nd of July, Chris Weidman knocked out Anderson Silva and won the Ultimate middleweight title. The reunion between the fighters, which is already considered the biggest rematch in the organization's history, was scheduled for the last event of the year, UFC 168, on December 28th.
