The symbolic and expressive trilogy for the UFC featherweight title (up to 65,7kg) will have to wait to be resolved. According to 'ESPN' North American, the duel between Max Holloway e Alexander Volkanovsky, which would happen in UFC 272 on March 5th, was canceled after the Hawaiian challenger suffered an aggravated injury during his preparation.

Coincidentally, the worsening happened a few days after the two athletes accepted and signed the agreement for the trilogy, which was scheduled to be the main fight of edition number 272, in Las Vegas. Ultimate, however, has not yet made an official announcement about Holloway's departure nor has it announced any changes to the event.
Volkanovski and Max would face each other for the third time in the octagon after the Australian got the better of the first two encounters.
The first of these took place in UFC 245, when Alexander overcame the then champion and took the category belt for himself. Seven months later, in UFC 251, Volkanovski defended his title in his rematch against Holloway in a split decision contested by many of the Hawaiian's fans.
From there to here, Alexander Volkanovsky defended the belt on yet another opportunity, in a “war” against Brian ortega, UFC 266, in September 2021. Max Holloway, in turn, surpassed Calvin kattar e Yair Rodriguez to guarantee another chance to compete for the title.
Despite the Hawaiian's departure, there is still a fight for the Hawaiian belt. UFC 272. In action, aljamain sterling e Petr yan resolve their disputes for the Ultimate bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg).
