Chandler 'ignores' Ferguson and expresses interest in facing Poirier or McGregor

After losing two fights in a row, Michael chandler seems to have already changed his mind when thinking about the ideal names to face in an attempt to get back on track with victories in the lightweight division (under 70,3kg) of the UFC. Fifth in the division rankings, 'Iron' ignored Tony Ferguson and now turned his attention to Dustin poirier e Conor McGregor in your next presentation at the organization.

“It’s what I always wanted when I signed with the UFC. I wanted to fight the best guys. Poirier was one of those we asked at the beginning, but he refused at the time. So he was always a name on the list. He's a guy I respect. A guy I admire within the sport of MMA. A guy I would love to compete against (…) and I think a fight between Conor and I would be huge. I want great moments. It's what makes a person have legendary status to build their career”, said Chandler in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.

Despite the 'chorus' for McGregor, Michael may have to postpone the focus, as the 'Notorious' is still recovering from an injury to his left leg, a fracture suffered precisely against Poirier. The Irishman has also been linked with a title fight against Charles of the Bronx. 'Diamante', who is coming off a defeat in the lightweight title fight (up to 70,3kg), admitted that he is negotiating a duel against Nate diaz for the first half of 2022.

Hired by Ultimate to boost the lightweight division, Chandler currently occupies fifth place in the category led by Do Bronx. For the company, the North American has had three clashes, having won only on his debut, when he ran over Dan Hooker. He even exchanged provocations with Tony Ferguson and there is also the possibility of a duel between the two athletes taking place.
