Held on the last day of the year (31), in Japan, the 33rd edition of the Rizin Fighting Federation consolidated Roberto Satoshi as lightweight champion (70,3kg.) amid around 30 thousand people at the 'Saitama Super Arena', in the duel against Yusuke Yachi. In the second most important fight of the night, the Brazilian submitted him with an armbar for the first time in the second round.

Multi-time champion in jiu-jitsu, Satoshi bet on his 'flagship' to dominate Yachi in the first minutes of the fight. And, to open up the fight, the Brazilian threw elbows and punches that hurt the Japanese. Likewise, he continued working until he got the opportunity to apply an armbar.
After the fight, in a post-event press interview, Roberto once again suggested that he is willing to compete in Bellator. The Brazilian stated that, now, he wants to be champion of two different organizations.
Roberto Satoshi switched to mixed martial arts in 2013 and currently has a record of 13 wins – nine of which are submissions – and just one defeat.
