Close to the rematch, Israel Adesanya says he will silence Robert Whittaker 'worse than the first time'

Motivated for the new duel, the middleweight champion assured that he is still motivated and promises an even better performance at UFC 271

In preparation for the rematch against Robert whittaker, scheduled for February, Israel adesanya promised an even better performance in the second clash. In a statement to his channel on youtube , the middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) said that he intends to 'prove himself' in the new duel against the New Zealander and reinforced his desire to have an even better performance in the UFC 271.

“This is the best shape I’ve ever been in a camp and I won't get out of shape, I promise that. I have a point to prove to myself, you know, I just want to shut these people up. I mean, the motivation for me is that he (Robert whittaker) is not making excuses like (Marvin) Vettori or (Paulo) Costa,” said Adesanya.

Adesanya and Whittaker were in the main fight of the UFC 243, in October 2019. At the time, the New Zealander was the current champion of the division, however, he succumbed to the excellent performance of the 'Stylebender', who knocked out Robert in the second round of the confrontation.
