In a public statement, the welterweight champion Georges St Pierre used himself and the challenger John hendricks to send a message about fairness in sport. On the Canadian website “SportsNet”, GSP invited Hendricks to perform a VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association) drug test.

“Nowadays, there is a lot of money involved, there are many ways to cheat and I believe in the VADA test. That’s why I call my opponent to take the exam for the title fight,” said St. Pierre.

The champion also commented on the constant accusations of use of illegal substances that he receives and made an appeal to the fighters. “I am always accused and, therefore, I invite, if possible, all high-level UFC athletes to do the same. I think this would be good to make the sport better. I’m ready to do this and be a good example”, he concluded.

On the 16th of November, Georges St Pierre puts the welterweight title on the line against John hendricks, at UFC 167. The fight night is scheduled to take place in the city of Las Vegas (USA). This will be the Canadian's ninth title defense.
