If the defeat of Anderson Silva for Chris Weidman at UFC 162 he put the Ultimate super champions on alert and served as motivation for his challengers. During a press conference held in Toronto (Canada), Alexander Gustafson stated that Weidman's result motivates him to fight for the light heavyweight belt against Jon Jones, In September.
“More than anything, everyone is a human being here. Everyone can lose. This (Weidman's win) gives me a spark of motivation. But most of all, I was shocked when it happened,” Gustafsson said.
Jon Jones e Alexander Gustafson face each other for the light heavyweight belt at UFC 165, on September 21, in Toronto, Canada. Interestingly, both athletes have only one defeat on their records. Champion Jones, however, has an advantage in the number of victories: 18 for the North American and 15 for the Swedish challenger.
