After praising the performance of Nick Diaz upon his return to MMA, in September 2021, Dana White changed his stance regarding a possible new confrontation of the 'bad boy'. In an interview with 'ESPN', the agent, who is an admitted admirer of the veteran, suggested that the former Strikeforce champion not perform professionally again. The 'big boss' questioned the reasons that make the fighter climb into the Octagon.

"Nick Diaz he impressed me a lot (on his return to MMA). But regardless of how he fought Robbie Lawler, after six years off, I don't think he should fight again. I have nothing to do with his decision to fight or not. He is an adult and does what he wants with his life. I just don't think he fights for love. He fights out of necessity. People always ask me what the key to success is, and I tell them it's being happy and loving what you do,” White said.

No UFC 266, Diaz returned to the Octagon after more than six years of inactivity in MMA. On that occasion, the veteran had a historic rematch against Robbie Lawler.

In the confrontation, Nick did not come close to the great performances that made him famous worldwide. The athlete ended the duel with a knockout in the opening minute of the third round.

With the new stumble, Diaz expanded the bad moment in his career. Beaten by Robbie, the 'bad boy' hasn't won a match since October 2011.
