After dominating Stephen Thompson at UFC Vegas 45, the top-10 welterweight praised his performance and asked for a duel against the Nigerian leader

After the 'run over' Stephen Thompson at UFC Vegas 45, Belal Muhammad | believes he is ready to fight for the welterweight belt (under 77,1kg). In a press conference after the show last Saturday (18), the 'Remember The Name' praised his triumph over 'Wonderboy' and asked for a duel against the champion Kamaru Usman.

Belal believes he is ahead of Leon edwards in the race for the title and asked for a confrontation against the champion Kamaru Usman.

“I deserve this title shot next because my streak is as long as Leon's (Edwards) streak and Leon already lost to Usman, so let's stop these rematches. Let's stop with, 'Oh, he beat Colby (Covington) twice, he beat (Jorge) Masvidal twice and now he's the GOAT. No, give him new blood. Give it a new look”, asked Belal.

In his last seven fights, Muhammad won six victories and a 'No Contest' against Leon edwards, in March 2021. In tenth place in the welterweight rankings, the North American has a record of 20 triumphs and three setbacks in professional MMA.
