The year 2013 has been special for Ana Maria India. After a long period of inactivity, the black belt returned with full force to the world of MMA. On Sunday night (07), India won the WebFight Combat bantamweight belt by defeating Bete Tavares with an armbar in the first round.

On the morning of this Monday (08), Ana Maria continued to reap the rewards of her success and received a call from Barreiras (BA), her homeland. On the line were her mother, Márcia, 64 years old, and her daughter Rayra, 10 years old, who were very celebrating winning her black belt in jiu-jitsu,

“I woke up this morning to my mother and daughter calling me. My mother was crying a lot, super emotional, saying that she was very happy with my victory. My family is everything in my life. They are my structure and my safe haven”, said the athlete.

Having been away from her relatives for almost two months due to training at Team Nogueira, India, which has five victories, four of which by submission, will embark in the coming days for the interior of Bahia to see them again.
