After suffering one of the most surprising defeats in the history of Ultimate, the Brazilian Anderson Silva made an important revelation in the octagon at UFC 162. Under boos, during an interview given after the fight, Anderson declared that he will no longer compete for the organization's middleweight belt – contradicting president Dana White, who had already guaranteed an immediate rematch in the event of of Spider's defeat.

“No, Chris is the champion now. I don't fight for the belt anymore. I've had the belt for a long time, I'm tired. Now I'm going to rest, I'm going to be with my family. Chris is the champion now, he deserves personal respect”, said the Brazilian, who stated that he is not retiring, but later, in an interview with the “Combate” channel, he did not deny the possibility.

In a farewell tone, Anderson also addressed words to those present and to the Ultimate managers. “I worked hard for this fight. I respect all the UFC fans, the people of the United States. I need to say a big thank you to the Fertitta brothers, Dana White and Joe Silva. Chris Weidman is the new champion because he is the best now. I worked hard, but he won,” Anderson said.

Anderson Silva lost the Ultimate middleweight title to the North American Chris Weidman after being knocked out in the second round of the main fight of UFC 162, in Las Vegas (USA). Anderson was the champion of the 84 kg division between October 14, 2006 and this Saturday night (6). The defeat interrupted Spider's run of 16 consecutive victories with the organization and prevented the Brazilian from reaching his eleventh consecutive title defense.

I WAS SUPER EXCITED, I HAVE PAY TV, BUT MY PLAN DOESN'T COVER THE MAIN CARD, I ALMOST BOUGHT IT JUST TO BE ABLE TO FOLLOW IT, BUT I PREFERRED TO WAIT, THIS OTHER ONE IS GLOBO, WHICH PRETENDS TO BE LIVE, I DIDN'T EVEN GO ON THE NET BECAUSE I WANTED TO SEE THE FIGHT IN ENTIRETY, BUT WHEN I SAW THE FACES OF CLEBER MACHADO AND CIGANO, I REALIZED THAT SOMETHING UNPLEASANT HAD HAPPENED, SO THE FIGHT STARTED, AND I SAW FROM THE BEGINNING UNTIL THE INTERVIEW AFTER THE FIGHT, THE IMBECÍL, BOUGH, SUCKER AND OTHER EXTRA QUALITIES TO THIS FIGHTER, WHO SHAME BRAZIL, WHY HE ENTERED THE RING AND DIDN'T FIGHT???? WHAT IS THIS???? THE UFC IS ALREADY BECOMING THE SAME CLOWN AS BOXING, BUT I STAYED UP UNTIL THAT TIME, TO SEE THIS, LOOK, I THINK IF ANDERSON SILVA EVEN HAD A SHAME ON HIS FACE IF THERE WAS LEFT, DON'T EVEN GO UP IN THE RING ANYMORE, AFTER THIS THE FIGHT, THE WAY IT WAS AND WHAT HE DID, IT Stained, EVEN THOUGH MOST OF THOSE WHO INTERVIEWED HIM DIDN'T HAVE THE COURAGE TO SAY THAT TO HIM, BUT YES, IT Stained HIS WHOLE CAREER WITH THE FACE THAT THIS FIGHT WAS.

Anderson gave the fight away. I watched from the first minute, Anderson wasn't fighting, he didn't want to continue as champion and he thought it was right to “give” the belt to the fairest and most decent fighter in MMA today, in this way he ran away from the fight against Jon Jones, since If he lost he would be free. I also believe that it was all set up (between White and Anderson), it was clear, Anderson looked like he was playing with a child, he lost because he wanted to.

From someone who has already fought...

The fight was not sold, simply age, overconfidence and even arrogance stood between Anderson and the fight. There is no doubt that he is still the best, but if he doesn't get the belt back or doesn't win the super fight (I have my doubts about that), unfortunately what the majority of the rest of the world will talk about will be the way he fought and lost. this last Saturday.

For someone who had held the belt for a long time, he couldn't lose like that. Unfortunately, he wasn't the Anderson Silva we know.
