After overcoming Dustin poirier and defend, for the first time, the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg.), Charles of the Bronx has already met his possible next opponent. Behind the scenes of UFC 269 last Saturday (11), the Brazilian had his first contact with Justin gaethje.

However, anyone who expected that the two fighters would find each other strange thought wrongly. In a recording made by the official UFC account on 'Instagram', the North American tried to praise the champion for his performance in the fight and showed respect for the Brazilian.
"Congratulations champion. It was too much. I only have respect for you. You deserve to win,” said Gaethje.
The Brazilian, in turn, returned the compliment and thanked Justin for his words. Charles of the Bronx managed to withstand the initial pressure of Dustin poirier and submitted him in the third round. In his career, he now has a record of 32 triumphs, eight setbacks and one 'no contest' (fight without result) in his career.
Justin gaethje, on the other hand, went through a 'war' in his last fight and beat Michael chandler by points in UFC 269. Later, the president of Ultimate, Dana White, had said that he would be the next challenger for the lightweight belt (under 70,3kg).
