First of eight Brazilian representatives on the card UFC 269, Priscila Pedrita got the worst of it in the opening of the preliminary card. The carioca was finished by Gillian robertson still in the first round.

This Saturday's defeat (11) interrupts Pedrita's good phase in the organization. The Brazilian athlete was coming off two consecutive knockout victories.

THE FIGHT

The start of the fight was promising for Priscila Pedrita. The Brazilian managed to connect good blows while standing and thwarted the first takedown attempts. Gillian robertson, who made it clear that he entered the Octagon to put the fight down. And after some insistence, the objective was achieved. On the ground, the fight changed completely, with the Canadian showing a lot of superiority, managing transitions until reaching mount. Stabilized, Robertson punished Pedrita with punches and elbows from top to bottom. When it looked like the Brazilian would be able to get up, Robertson was smart and secured a rear naked choke, forcing three taps from Pedrita in the last second of the first round.

In the second fight of the night, Tony Kelley got the better of Randy Costa and came out with the victory via technical knockout in the second round. After a balanced first round, the Team Alpha Male athlete landed a good knee to the waistline that paved the way for victory via ground and pound.

The victory was the second in a row for Tony Kelley in the organization. The 34-year-old athlete had debuted with a defeat to Kai Kamaka in August 2020, but has not lost since.

Randy Costa, on the other hand, lost his second straight in the Octagon. The Lauzon MMA athlete was coming off a defeat to Adrian Yanez in July this year and has not expired since September 2020.
