“Realistically, for me it’s just another step towards my belt. I don't really care about him. This is the opponent that the UFC set for me, but my goal is the same. It doesn’t matter who gets in the cage with me, I’m going to crush them and go for my belt,” said Ponzibbio.
The Argentine fighter showed respect for his opponent, cited his recent negative record but promised to try to end the duel quickly.
“He is very dangerous and very tough. He's coming off two defeats, but I don't care. He comes very hungry, he needs to win and a third defeat in a row will be bad for him. But realistically, I don't care what's good for him. I'm going to crush this guy. I'm going to make him feel a lot of pain for 15 minutes. Maybe he’ll be smart and stay on the ground sooner”, concluded Santiago.
Fourteenth in the Ultimate rankings, Ponzinibbio won again after the serious injury that kept him away from the octagon for more than two years. Last June, the 'Argentino Gente Boa' defeated Miguel Baeza in a unanimous decision by the judges. The fighter has a record of 28 triumphs and four setbacks in professional MMA.
