The UFC Hall of Fame has two new members. Before the start of UFC 162 in Las Vegas, Forrest griffin e Stephan bonnar were awarded the honor. The two received an acrylic plaque from Dana White, president of the UFC, with the inscription UFC Hall of Fame 2013.

Griffin, 34, and Bonnar, 36, were finalists on the first season of The Ultimate Fighter in the United States, in April 2005. On that occasion, Forrest won the contest with a unanimous decision from the judges and became the first to lift the reality show champion trophy. The duel was voted the biggest in UFC history and contributed incredibly to the popularization of the sport in the country.

“In the scheme of things, fighting isn’t the best part of the business. It's not a hero's profession, although sometimes we are treated like that. But it's the best thing I've ever done, and I really appreciate you guys being part of this with me,” Griffin said in an interview during the ceremony.

In turn, Bonnar praised Forrest griffin and remembered the great duel in the final of the first TUF. “If there is anyone in the UFC I could have chosen to lose this fight, it would be Forrest griffin. As painful as it was to lose this fight, I was happy because he’s a great guy,” said Bonnar.
