Léo Santos speaks out after defeat to Clay Guida at UFC Las Vegas 44

Brazilian highlight in UFC Las Vegas 44, held last Saturday (4), Leo Santos did not have the expected performance against Clay guida. After being close to knocking out the veteran in the first round, the Tupiniquim ended up being surprised by his opponent in the second stage and was submitted. Hours after the stumble, the athlete spoke out on social media.

“First of all, I thank God for everything. I thank my family, Nova União team, and fans. Thanks for the messages. I am fine. Victories and defeats are part of our daily lives. We can’t escape this”, wrote the fighter on his Instagram account.

The first Brazilian to step into the Octagon over the weekend, Santos arrived at the event with the intention of getting back on track to winning ways. In March, the TUF champion suffered his first negative result with the Ultimate gloves.

With the new setback, Santos ends up experiencing an unprecedented moment in his career. The fighter had never lost two fights in a row.

A notable character in the UFC, Clay reached a significant milestone last Saturday. The victory over the Brazilian represented the 37th positive result in the veteran's MMA career.
