Clay Guida survives punishment from Léo Santos, turns fight and submits Brazilian at UFC Las Vegas 44

Veteran goes through nightmare in the first stage, survives and wins triumph against TUF 2 champion

First Brazilian to enter the octagon in UFC Las Vegas 44, Leo Santos It went from heaven to hell from the first to the second round. Highlight of this Saturday's show (4), the Tupiniquim came close to achieving a brutal knockout in the first round, but ended up suffering a huge upset from the veteran, who survived the punishment. The fight

The confrontation began with Guida taking the initiative with a low kick. The Brazilian saved his strikes and tried to find the best distance to unleash his game. In a fight that pitted two promising lightweights (up to 70,3kg) face to face, Raphael Fiziev won with a cinematic outcome. Crute's greater experience in MMA was not enough to stop his opponent's momentum. With the stumble, the fighter suffered two setbacks in a row, unprecedented in his career to date.

MMA veteran, Chris Curtis He put on a real show in the second fight on the main card. Facing an opponent almost 10 years younger, the fighter was not intimidated and made his experience count. With the victory, Curtis, 34, extended his good career streak. Now, the athlete has six consecutive victories and continues with 100% success in two Ultimate commitments.

Run over at the show, Allen was unable to add his third triumph in a row. The 25-year-old fighter now has two setbacks in seven challenges in the company.

Representative of welterweights (up to 77kg.), alex morono had a dominant performance in the clash that opened the main card. Opponent of Mickey gall, 'created by the UFC', the athlete didn't give his opponent a chance and, with a confident performance, came out on top in a three-round duel. After 15 minutes, the combatant was declared the winner with a unanimous decision by the judges.

With the victory, Morono confirms the good phase within the organization. The athlete reaches three consecutive victories and continues the trajectory towards the elite of the group led by Kamaru Usman.

Beaten in UFC Las Vegas 44, Gall ended up getting complicated in the organization. The stumble marked the third setback in the athlete's last five fights.
