Gender Georges St Pierre or same Jon Jones, the opponent of Anderson Silva in the long-awaited superfight involving the Brazilian, it could be boxer Roy Jones Jr. The idea had already been proposed by Spider himself, but at first it was not taken seriously. However, this Thursday (4), in conversation with journalists after the UFC 162 press conference, Ultimate president Dana White revealed that the possibility of a confrontation between Silva and Jones Jr. is real.

"Anderson Silva He's the best fighter of all time. He's a guy who has never lost in the UFC. I respect him. He wants to fight Roy Jones, and Roy is my friend. I called Roy and said: 'Look, do you know about this (Anderson's interest in facing him)?'. He said, 'I know', and I continued, 'Are you interested?'. He replied, 'I'm going to (Las) Vegas this weekend.' So Roy and I are talking about it and we'll see what happens. I don’t know (if the superfight will actually happen), but he’s coming and we’re going to talk,” said White.

About a month ago, Anderson told the American newspaper “New York Post” that he wanted to face the boxer. According to Spider, the duel against Jones Jr. is an old dream. “This is something I'm really interested in doing... Maybe Dana White should do this fight (against Roy Jones Jr.)”, said the Brazilian at the time.

This Saturday (6), Anderson Silva returns to the octagon against the undefeated North American Chris Weidman, in the main fight of UFC 162, in Las Vegas. The Brazilian, who leads the Ultimate weight-for-pound rankings, is the organization's record holder for most belt defenses, with ten in total. Against Weidman, Spider also defends the longest winning streak in the history of the main MMA event on the planet. Anderson currently has 16 consecutive victories.
