Lightweight division prospect Joel Alvarez reveals dream of seeing a UFC event in Spain

Fifteenth in the lightweight rankings, the Spanish fighter spoke about his desire to see an Ultimate card in his home country

Considered one of the biggest UFC prospects today, the Spaniard Joel alvarez revealed his dream of seeing an Ultimate event in his home country. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the lightweight (up to 70,3kg) stated that there is a large fan base in the European country and believed that the show would be a success.

“There is a lot of support now and a lot of fans. I think it's a good time next year, in 2022, for the UFC to come to Spain, if possible. An event in Spain would be tremendous to tell the truth. I think it's a good time. The fan base is ready, and I think they would sell a lot abroad,” said Alvarez.

Number 15 in the lightweight rankings, Joel managed to make it in Ultimate after debuting with a defeat in the UFC. With four consecutive victories, the Spaniard entered the category classification after knocking out Thiago Moses in the first round, in November. The fighter has a record of 19 triumphs and two setbacks in professional MMA.
