Renato Moicano asks for a fight against a ranked opponent if he wins his next UFC engagement

Dreaming of higher flights in the category, the Brazilian asked for a duel against a member of the elite of the lightweight division, if he beats Alexander Hernandez

In preparation for his fourth fight in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg), Renato Moicano believes he can make bigger leaps if he wins Alexander Hernandez No. UFC 271. The Brazilian fighter praised his next opponent and asked for a ranked rival if he wins the fight on February 12th. The statement was given in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.

“I want to fight the best and I think he's good. He fought big names and I think we'll have a good spot on the card. It will be February 12th. I think (Israel) Adesanya will be in the main fight, so it will be a good card and I'm happy to be at this event and fight against (Alexander) Hernandez, so I feel good”, said the Brazilian fighter.

Former member of the Ultimate featherweight rankings, the Brazilian fighter asked to face a ranked opponent if he beats Hernandez in the UFC 271.

It will be a good fight for the fans and I hope that after it, I will face a ranked opponent because when I moved to lightweight, I was ranked among the top 10 featherweights and I have not yet fought a ranked opponent in the new division. . I know I'm one of the best in the world, so I want my chance after this fight”, concluded Moicano.

With three fights in the new division, Moicano has one loss and two wins. After debuting by submitting Damir Hadžović in March 2020, Renato was knocked out by Raphael Fiziev in December of the same year. Redemption in the new weight range came in June 2021, with another submission victory against Jai Herbert. The fighter has a record of 15 wins, four setbacks and one draw.
