Looking for an opportunity to win the welterweight belt (up to 77,1kg), Santiago Ponzinibbio knows the importance of the duel against Geoff neal No. UFC 269. The 'Argentine Gente Boa' showed focus on his opponent on December 11th but emphasized his goal of becoming world champion one day. The statement was given in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'

“I always try to have the best fights and fight the best guys in the company. I'm always training to beat the best fighters and prove that I'm among the best in the world. My goal is the world title, but I’m focused on Neal,” said Ponzinibbio.

Ready for his third fight after suffering a serious injury that left him almost two years away from the octagon, the 'Argentine Gente Boa' revealed that he is in great shape and cited his plans to reach the world title fight.

“Fortunately, I'm in great shape, feeling good and I'm prepared to beat him. The idea is to finish the fight and then fight a top 5 player. That's what I'm looking for. I want a top 5, so I can then have an opportunity for the title”, concluded Ponzinibbio.

The Argentine fighter is going for his third fight in the 2021 season. In previous duels of the season, Santiago was knocked out by Jingliang Li in January and beat Miguel Baeza via unanimous decision in June. The fighter has a record of 28 triumphs and four setbacks in professional MMA.
