Stars bet on Weidman winning over Anderson in the main fight of UFC 162

UFC President Dana White recently revealed that all the fighters he had been talking to were betting on a victory of Chris Weidman about Anderson Silva. And it looks like the manager was really serious. The organization's official website compiled testimonials from several stars about the fight and are betting on the North American's victory.

Check out below what some UFC stars have to say about the main fight of UFC 162, which takes place next Saturday.

PUBLICITY:

Chael Sonnen: Look, he beat me twice, which doesn't make me feel comfortable criticizing Anderson publicly now that our rivalry is over. But that's not what I'm going to do. I think Anderson is an excellent fighter, a fantastic fighter, but I don't think he's going to win this fight.

I think Weidman will take Anderson down at will, he will pass his guard and I think he will submit him. Taking down Anderson is not a difficult thing to do. Weidman will hit him, hurt him with ground and pound and finish him in up to three rounds with a hand triangle or something similar. Weidman is a younger version of me – and even better when he's on top. I don't have the submissions that Weidman has, I think he'll win by choke. The seven-year reign will end. That's honestly what I think

PUBLICITY:

Ronda Rousey: I think that Anderson Silva He's the best in the world pound for pound, but Weidman is the worst matchup for him. It will definitely be interesting and I'm excited to see what happens.

Matt serra (Weidman's trainer): Chris is going to shock a lot of people. The combination of his skills and the mentality to win will result in a huge victory. Chris doesn't take “no” for an answer, he's an animal, a monster. Unlike other guys, he will face Anderson with aggression and skill. He is the complete fighter to beat Anderson.

PUBLICITY:

Miesha TateChael Sonnen he almost beat Anderson because he was a wrestler. And Weidman is a more dynamic wrestler than Sonnen – and Weidman won't get caught in a submission. Weidman's wrestling will definitely give him a chance.

Georges St Pierre: I think it's a bad matchup for Anderson Silva. Very bad, when it comes to styles. Anderson's weakness is Weidman's strength. I trained with him, his wrestling is on another level. I think not just Chris Weidman will win Anderson Silva, I believe he will finish Anderson. This fight will shock a lot of people. Anderson is smart, however, and will face Chris coming off a long layoff due to injury. If Weidman makes it through training camp without any issues, he will win.

Kenny Florian: Weidman is Anderson's biggest challenge. He's a guy who can take you down, has tremendous ground and pound and excellent submissions. I think your hand triangle could cause a lot of problems for Anderson Silva when the fight hits the ground. The way Anderson tries to get up and the way Weidman controls his opponents using their heads makes Anderson very vulnerable to the hand triangle.

PUBLICITY:

If you see what Chael Sonnen did to Silva – he won all five full rounds in both fights, and didn't just win. He dominated. Weidman is a bigger, stronger, younger guy who hits harder than Chael. I don’t think there is a fighter capable of beating Anderson standing up, but I think Weidman can take him to the ground and, once there, I think he will be in a great position to win.”

Michael BispingAnderson Silva is the greatest of all time, but trust me, Weidman has a really bad style to him. A nightmare style, really. Weidman will be able to take Anderson down and do some serious damage. Weidman has a great ground game, where Anderson showed vulnerabilities. Chael Sonnen he took him down and Anderson had to wait for the end of the round to get up. Anderson is the best fighter in the world, but his weakness is wrestling and Weidman is at least as good in this area as Chael.

Plus, Anderson is getting old. Beating one-legged Canadians and semi-retired light heavyweights is one thing, but if Weidman can do what he's talking about, I think he can win.”

Gray Maynard: If anyone can win Anderson Silva and take off your belt, surely this is Chris Weidman. He's the only guy we can point to in the division and say: 'This guy can beat Anderson'

Daniel Cormier: I'm always biased in favor of wrestlers, but I honestly think Weidman has the tools to win. Anderson is the greatest of all time, but Weidman is an expert at what Chael Sonnen he did. He won't spend a round or two thinking about what to do. Just follow Chael's plan: take Anderson down and use ground and pound. I think Anderson's takedown defense has improved, but Chris is a good wrestler and will complete the job. I'm betting on Weidman by decision.

Frank mir: Anderson has shown a weakness: he can be controlled on the ground by strong wrestlers – and Weidman is the strongest wrestler in the division. Everyone compares with Chael Sonnen, but Chael controlled Anderson and didn't hurt him. Weidman can hurt Anderson with ground and pound and can submit Anderson.

The only way I see for Weidman not to win is if he acts macho and has the illusion that he can trade with the best striker in the world. But I think he's too smart for that. I think Weidman will win.”

Roger gracie: Weidman's grappling is top notch. He has some good finishes. He can catch anyone, even an elite grappler. I think he's capable of submitting anyone, including me or Anderson Silva.

T. J. Grant: Personally, I think Weidman has the tools to win. He's young, confident and his grappling is completely on another level. You never want to bet against Anderson Silva, but I give a small advantage to Weidman.

John hendricks: Anderson doesn't like to start fights strong, but he's going to need it now. Weidman has been inactive for a long time and Anderson has to take advantage of that, go all out and try to knock him out in the first round. But if Weidman makes it to the final rounds, his wrestling and youth will pay off. I think Weidman has the style and skills to win this fight. I bet on him by decision.

They're trying to sell the fight anyway. That's how ugly it gets on Dana! Vitor vs Anderson would certainly be better for the Capitalist boss.
Until those days, there were still 75 percent of tickets to be sold! So that explains these compliments to wediman!
It won't last until the second round!

I think this is all to promote an event that has everything to be a fiasco. Weidman has no chance of beating Anderson. The only ones that do are in another category. Only by promoting GP's can we see a likely defeat for Aranha

Anderson is the best, as Anderson himself says “THEY WILL NEVER BE”
