Justin Gaethje says he wants to fight for the title and plans a duel against Islam Makhachev in the future

North American says he has already proven himself ready to face the winner of 'Do Bronx x Poirier', who face off at UFC 269

Justin gaethje is confident in his position in search of a chance at the lightweight division title (up to 70,3kg.). After winning Michael chandler in a real 'war' in UFC 268, the North American believes he has already done enough to prove himself as the next challenger.

In an interview with 'MMA fighting', Gaethje reaffirmed that he wants to measure forces against the winner of Charles of the Bronx e Dustin poirier, who will face each other in edition number 269 – scheduled to take place on December 11th. He even plans to have the belt and, in the future, measure forces against Islam makhachev.

“I will let him (challenge me) first if he gets his spot. I'm going to beat one of these guys (Charles of the Bronx ou Dustin poirier) and then I let him come. Yes, I'm looking forward to it. He needs to know that war is coming and I hope he is ready for it,” Justin said.

Current number two in the lightweight rankings, Gaethje defeated Michael chandler in the unanimous decision of the judges in the UFC 268. The North American – who has already beaten names like Tony Ferguson, Edson Barboza e Donald Cerrone – comes from five victories in his last six fights in the organization and has a record of 23 triumphs and three setbacks.
